Steve Yzerman  - CCM Ultrafil knit, size 52.  CCM removed from hem. Redwings 60th Anniversary patch embroidered in shoulder. Born on date is 07 85. Now for the history of this jersey, this jersey has been scrutinized by the hobby since its original sale from Classic Collectibles, until NOW!!  The jersey originally comes from Steve Yzerman and was consigned to Classic Auctions from Derrick Luck, close personal friend of Steve Yzerman and owner of Stevieyauthentic.  This is the jersey Yzerman wears when he breaks his collarbone that season, that is why he had it in his personal collection, it was worn to the hospital.  During the sale from Classic the jersey was deemed to have problems from the collecting community, the problems where the embroidered in Eastside tag in the hem and the lack of CCM on the hem.  The collecting community has associated Eastside being on the hem of Redwings jerseys as screened on, not embroidered, well during the 85-86 they did use Eastside on the hem all embroidered in, as you can see to the right there is the O'Connell, that was sold in the Spring 2004 Classic auction with the embroidered Eastside and the CCM removed, just like the Yzerman.  The CCM in the hem can be clearly seen where it was before and this was probably done by Eastside. Now there is evidence of a captains "C" removed.  Danny Gare long time captain of the Redwings gets hurt and only plays 57 games, I believe that Yzerman was the interim captain during this time.  Autographed on the #9 and also again on the back of the crest on the inside. New Updated Information - There is now the sister jersey to this one in Classic Auctions, their jersey has the 10 85 born on date with the CCM removed just like this one. The photo's and description are to the right.

Classic 12-15-05 Auctions Yzerman

Born-on tag sewn in the neck is inscribed "85 10". This fantastic jersey exhibits decent game use with over 40 stick marks and slashes on the sleeves and front. Steve Yzerman saw action in 51 games over the 1985-86 season. From the personal collection of Rick "The Stick" Elaschuk with his signed letter of provenance.

CCM white knit Wings home jersey has a Maska Ultrafil tag in the neck with “52” added in ballpoint along with a set tag (85 10), while “Eastside” is embroidered into the hem, CCM taken out.

Steve Yzerman - CCM Ultrafil, size 50. This is his first road Captains jersey he wears for the Redwings in his career.  The tag in the the collar has a born on date of April of 1986.  This jersey was used in the 1st set of 1986-87.  The jersey was hemmed and then let out by the team trainer.  You can see were the hem was.  Story has it that Yzerman bulked up over the summer and they had eventually let the hem out.  This Hockey News photo and article are on the cover of Nov,7 1987 but the photo was taken in the 86-87 season and the article was written about him for the 86-87 season. They just reused an old article.  The article mentions that Yzerman gets injured sometime in February and does not play for the rest of the 85-86 season.  It also mentions his rehab, and how he bulked up over the summer.  So now we have article evidence backing up the story of the jersey.   Now the photo, notice the "C" sits about 2"  below the shoulder seem, its the same in the photo.  Also how the white stripe is not on the bottom of the hem.  Now in 87-88 the Redwings went to the style of white on the bottom.  This clearly dates this 86-87.  Now in the LOA it also states that this jersey was given to the buyer during November, by the Redwings trainer. This jersey has been in a private collection since that day.

Nicklas Lidstrom  - Nike Airknit, size 52.  96-97 Game jersey tag in the hem signature of equipment manager Paul Boyer.  This was the first set of Redwings tagged for Paul Boyer.  Hockeytown Authentic Hologram included serial #2738.  I have contacted Paul Boyer and had him verify this jersey and it is a real game used jersey.  There are 6 spots on the jersey that looks to be of heavy glue residue.  LOA from the Spirit of the Game.
