Harry Howell - Wilson heavy double-knit, size 46. All original, after a few games the Mariners put white nameplates over the smaller names that were sewn on the back because the fans and media had a hard seeing the names on the back. The white nameplate was later removed, why? I have no clue. LOA from Harry Howell and the Spirit of the Game. Game Wear: Photo Matched

Bill Speer and Joe Junkin - Wilson heavy double knit, size 46 but measure out to be a 48. Bill Speer comes with the team on the move from New Jersey Knights. Bill participates in the pre-season but then gets cut from the regular season roster just before the season starts. So the Mariners had this made for the regular season for Speer, these jersey were not used in preseason to the best of my knowledge. Because of the small name on the back the press and fans had a hard time seeing the names, so later in the season they put the classic big white nameplates on the back. That is when Joe Junkin wears this jersey. Joe wears number 36 for 16 games, and you can see it started out as a number 36 then switched to 26. Some other cup of coffee player unknown at this time probably had it switched to #26. All 74-75 Wilson jerseys that I have seen have had the big white nameplates removed leaving the original name on back exposed. The Mariners removed these plates and recycled them many times over, most of the times you can find another name on the back side of these plates. Tim O'Connell - Rawlings durene knit, size 48. O'Connell plays 16 games in 76-77, there are many players listed on the Mariners roster that no one knows what numbers they wore, this jersey was probably worn before O'Connell by one of those players. I have never seen a all original all intact Mariners jersey, all have shown some type of nameplate change or another name under the nameplate. This is a original jersey, meaning this jersey never had the Mariners shoulder patch. From researching about 50% of the Mariners never had the shoulder patch sewn on and some were removed and recycled, but there was a definite shortage. Game Wear:

Randy Legge - Rawlings Durene knit, size 46 . From researching, I have found out so far that this style was worn in the pre-season of 76-77 and during the first half of the regular season. About half of the players in the team photo are not wearing the typical Mariners shoulder patch. This photo is the second known photo of the Mariners every shown wearing this style jersey. This is one of the rarest WHA jerseys I have seen to date. All known Mariners jerseys sported the San Diego going down the front and not the Mariners. This jersey escaped the lost set. On the backside of the Legge nameplate you can see they used another players nameplate which was Norm Cournoyer, you can see the "URNOY". The Mariners recycled a lot of their nameplates. This is the only original all intact of this style I have ever seen. Game Wear:
